Rocky ran away from home
Imagine losing Rocky days before his birthday party at Sentosa
Jo had to fly to Jakarta for work for the last trwo days and I had to bring the dogs down for their morning walk around 5.30am before leaving for work. Jo was back last night so I did not have to bring them down this morning. But the three of them had gotten used to the timing and were expecting me to bring them down. They followed me all over the house. Rocky slipped out of the house when I was watering the plants. About 15 minutes later I left for work and got a shock when I saw Rocky wandering downstairs. It was 6.30am so there were not many people around or Rocky would have been taken home by someone.

New shoes from Bangkok
We bought 50 pairs of shoes from our latest trip to Chatuchak. Instead of leaving the dogs at the pet sitter we tried someting new. We paid our next door neighbour to feed them and bring Ozzy down for his walk. According to her Ozzy was afraid to follow her down. Ozzy is quite cautious even with people he knows. We prefer our dogs to be like that so they won't follow strangers home in the event they are lost.

Dog saves owner by calling 911
By AMANDA LEE MYERS,Associated Press Writer AP - Tuesday, September 16PHOENIX -
"Man's best friend" doesn't go far enough for Buddy _ a German shepherd who remembered his training and saved his owner's life by calling 911 when the man had a seizure. And it's not the first time Buddy has been there for owner Joe Stalnaker, a police officer said Sunday. On a recording of the 911 call Wednesday, Buddy is heard whimpering and barking after the dispatcher answers and repeatedly asks if the caller needs help.
"Hello, this is 911. Hello ... Can you hear me? Is there somebody there you can give the phone to," says the dispatcher, Chris Trott.
Police were sent to Stalnaker's home, and after about three minutes Buddy is heard barking loudly when the officers arrived.
Scottsdale police Sgt. Mark Clark said Stalnaker spent two days in a hospital and recovered from the seizure.
"It's pretty incredible," Clark said. "Even the veteran dispatchers _ they haven't heard of anything like this."
Clark said police are dispatched whenever 911 is called, but that Stalnaker's address was flagged in Scottsdale's system with a notification that a trained assistance dog could call 911 when the owner was incapacitated.
Clark said Stalnaker adopted Buddy at the age of 8 weeks from Michigan-based Paws with a Cause, which trains assistance dogs, and trained him to get the phone if he began to have seizure symptoms. Buddy, now 18 months old, is able press programmed buttons until a 911 operator is on the line, Clark said.
Clark said Buddy has made two other 911 calls when Stalnaker was having seizures.
He said Stalnaker's seizures are the result of a head injury he suffered about 10 years ago during a military training exercise.
Stalnaker was not listed in the phone book, and he did not immediately respond to a request through police for an interview.

At the beach
Ozzy is not a keen swimmer
Rocky is a good swimmer
We had been picking off ticks and fleas from the dogs for the past 2 weeks. We suspect that the wet weather recently could be one reason for the increase in bugs. So we decided to bring them for a dip in the sea to help get rid of the ticks. The fleas were moving house from the dog's body to the neck and ears which was dry

Dog guarded owner's body for weeks after suicide
AP - Wednesday, August 13 GREELEY, Colo. - A dog stood guard over her owner's body for up to six weeks after the man committed suicide on the remote northeastern Colorado plains, authorities said.
The body of 25-year-old Jake Baysinger of La Salle was found Sunday on the Pawnee National Grasslands about 75 miles northeast of Denver. Cash, his German shepherd, was found beside him, thin and dehydrated but still alive. The dog had apparently survived by eating mice and rabbits, authorities said.
The Weld County coroner ruled Baysinger's death a suicide. The cause of death wasn't immediately determined but authorities found a gun nearby, the coroner's office said Tuesday.
"At least we know it's over now," said Baysinger's wife, Sara. "We'd been looking for my husband for six weeks, and this isn't how we wanted it to end. At least we can close this."
Baysinger was reported missing June 28. An extensive search failed to locate him, but Kip Konig, a rancher, saw the dog last weekend, went to investigate and discovered Baysinger's body and his pickup.
He said Cash kept running back to the pickup and jumping into the front seat.
"I got the sense she was trying to tell me where her master was," Konig said.
Cash was reunited Monday with Sara Baysinger and her 2-year-old son, Lane. She said her little boy is "very close to that dog" and happy to see her again.
Investigators said the dog probably kept coyotes away from the body.

Mad dog and an Englishman or is it the other way round
We had to deal with two days of non stop barking
Rocky obviously was not a friendly dog
John trying to video himself in a sarong
John was stopping over for two nights on his way back home after holidaying in Asia for two months. Rocky kept barking at him throughout the two days he was at our place. I think Rocky is a mad dog but if you see the things John did around the neighbourhood you might forgive him for the endless barking.

Dino's new home
Dino has very expressive ears unlike his siblings
I think he has the same light grey tinge like Emma
This is John, Dino's new mate
Dino's (Da Bao) owner called up last month saying that they were giving him up. These are his latest photos from his new owner. I think Dino will have a great time as he will have another Schnauzer for companionship.
